My name is Victoria Boutros. I am a former educator, transitioned into people operations. and leadership. My most recent experience at Google Cloud was absolutely amazing. It reaffirmed just how much I love seeing people accomplish their goals! My passion is people, and I am committed to creating meaningful change in this world by creating resources that help people succeed.
I am open to all opportunities, and I have a variety of skills including curriculum design, copy editing, designing templates within the gSuite and MS Suite, and really anything involving writing, speaking or designing. Feel free to explore my website to check out materials I have created. An old colleague of mine and I design materials from scratch and make them available for free on teacherspayteachers.com because we believe that all students deserve access to quality educational materials, and teachers really should not have to pay to get that for their students. I am also pretty skilled at creating instructional videos and materials of all sorts. I am very interested in DEI work, but I can definitely carry a DEI mindset to any team. My passions are DEI and accessibility in the workplace.
Though I recently worked in People Operations, I am still very passionate about education advocacy, and I do provide free academic counseling through a variety of sources. I am very interested in work that could potentially merge my passion for content creation and education. In the past, I taught 9th grade English Language Arts, 9th grade AVID English, and I was the 9th grade advisor at Digital Harbor High School for Baltimore City Public Schools this past year. I taught in Baltimore for a total of two years, and before that, I was an on-site substitute teacher and Reading Intervention Coach for Claremont Middle School in Oakland, California.
I have had a complicated academic history. I got my B.A. in English Literature in 2018, but my journey was certainly arduous. I am a first-generation college student and first-generation Egyptian-American. My family immigrated to Los Angeles, California in 1987 with the hope of escaping the extreme poverty, religious persecution, and oppressive views on female rights in Egypt. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Northern California to complete my undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and then to Baltimore, Maryland to complete my M.S.Ed at Johns Hopkins University.
I am a high school drop-out, and I have been fortunate enough to have come across the right people and organizations to help me overcome the obstacles I have come across. At nineteen, I decided to get my GED and found the community college path into the world of higher-level learning. I spent a significant amount of time doing my own research on the matriculation process, and once I did, I made it my life’s mission to help others do the same. I even got into Harvard University two years ago, though I couldn't attend due to the high cost.
I am deeply committed to helping people succeed!
